Short guide for physicians

Step 1: wound preparation

1. Prepare the wound; remove fibrin and necrotic tissue.

Step 2: dressing application

2. With sterile forceps, apply the patch overlapping 3–5 mm of healthy skin.

Step 3: dressing fixation

3. Apply a moist sterile gauze and secure with a dry dressing.

Step 4: biodegradation monitoring

4. Leave the dressing for 6–10 days until full biodegradation of the dressing.

Step 5: actions if exudate increases

5. If exudate increases or the dressing is damaged, replace per instructions.

What if the wound has exudate?
Before applying Novoskin, prepare the wound per the instructions and dry the wound and periwound skin thoroughly with sterile gauze. With moderate or heavy exudate, perform daily care until drainage is minimal; apply the dressing only to wounds with light exudate and without fibrin or necrotic areas.

Can the dressing be cut—and with what?
Yes. Use sterile scissors.

How do I perforate the dressing?
Make small cuts with sterile scissors or carefully perforate with a sterile needle to support air exchange and drainage of exudate.

Can the dressing get wet after application?
No—protect the dressing from direct water contact. Moisture may compromise the collagen matrix.

What if the outer dressing is mechanically damaged?
If it loosens or tears, remove the outer dressing, check the Novoskin disc, reposition if needed, and re-dress per the instructions.
