Review clinical cases

Novoskin creates a semi-occlusive dressing that protects the wound from external factors and infection

This helps accelerate healing and improve tissue recovery quality.

Physical barrier

A semi-occlusive dressing separates the wound surface from the external environment

Collagen + laminin

They mimic the natural microenvironment of the dermal–epidermal junction

Natural re-epithelialization

The matrix supports proliferation of the patient's own keratinocytes

The collagen–laminin dressing acts physically, without a pharmacological mechanism

How treatment works and why a professional approach matters

How does treatment work?

A surgeon at the clinic secures Novoskin for 6–10 days — you recover comfortably at home between dressing changes. For bedridden patients, a home visit is possible. Treatment duration depends on the case.

Why shouldn't dressing changes be done at home?

Only a physician can properly and sterilely prepare the wound, remove necrosis, prevent infection risk, and secure the bandage reliably. Professional dressing changes are key to fast healing.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about using Novoskin

01
Which wounds is Novoskin suitable for?
Novoskin is used for grade I–III burns, trophic ulcers, pressure injuries, donor-site wounds, and granulating non-infected wounds. Before use, the wound itself must be assessed — the diagnosis alone is not enough
02
Does the wound need to be prepared before application?
Yes. If fibrin or necrotic tissue is present, the wound surface is cleaned and prepared first, and only then is Novoskin applied
03
Can Novoskin be used on an infected wound?
Active infection is managed first. Novoskin does not treat infection — the dressing is considered again after wound preparation, when the clinician judges it appropriate
04
What if the wound produces exudate?
First assess the amount of drainage. If exudate is heavy, control it and prepare the wound first — Novoskin needs good contact with the wound surface
05
How do I use Novoskin when the wound is larger than one dressing?
Several dressings can be used with a slight overlap, or one dressing can be divided into pieces — the goal is good contact with the wound surface
06
How should the dressing be perforated?
If wound drainage needs an outlet, the dressing can be carefully perforated with a sterile instrument. Whether this is needed in a given case is decided by the clinician
07
How long can Novoskin remain on the wound?
Up to 10 days, guided first by the condition of the wound. Residual material does not need to be removed at the next dressing change
08
What if the dressing is damaged or shifts?
Do not try to reposition the dressing yourself. A physician or nurse should assess its position and restore sterile fixation if needed
09
Can a Novoskin dressing get wet?
No. Keep the dressing dry and protect it from direct contact with water
10
What if burning or discomfort appears after application?
Mild stinging, tingling, or a feeling of tightness in the first minutes can occur. If the sensation does not settle, gets worse, or a skin reaction appears, the wound should be shown to a clinician
